The trail is Home › Projects › Website Relaunch › Tasks › Design mockups. The edit form has the same trail, although its URL is /node/3/edit.
The pattern
Parent through a reference: the trail goes through the content this page belongs to, read from an entity reference field instead of from the URL.
When to use it
Content that belongs to other content: tasks in projects, sessions in events, lessons in courses. Even when the URL says the same thing, the reference is the source of truth, and edit forms, revisions and other entity routes carry no hierarchy in their URL at all.
How it is configured
- At Structure › Custom breadcrumbs, add a rule: Type of breadcrumb set to Content entity, Entity type to Content and Entity bundle to Task.
- Breadcrumb paths, one per line.
<nolink>makes a crumb without a link:

Projects [node:field_project:entity:title] Tasks [node:title] - At Configuration › User interface › Custom breadcrumbs settings, tick Prepend default "Home" link and leave Append current page title like the latest crumb off: each rule ends with a crumb for the page itself. Leave Disable on admin pages off, or edit forms fall back to Easy Breadcrumb.
The tokens chain through the reference: field_project:entity is the project node, and :url:path its alias. The Tasks crumb links to the task list filtered on this project.
